There are a few ways to get Ore. You can get them from combat after striking Critical Kills on your opponents. The Friends Ladder has a link to Ask for Metal from your Allies. The three different Ore Mines allow you to buy contracts that produce Ore, unlocked by increasing your Empire Level. The Market is another way to buy and sell Ore.
