What happens when you reach level 55 in Empires and Allies?

For now Level 55 is the maximum level one can reach in Empires and Allies. It is the level cap of the game. When you reach level 55, no matter how much experience you gain you cannot level up. So you will have to stay in level 55 until the level cap is removed or increased. Unlike in other levels, when you move your mouse to the XP Bar, the XP bar will show you 35590 but nothing will be mentioned when you reach the next level. For eg, you will not see something like 560/720. Also to mention, you will get nothing special when you reached the level cap: Level 55.
